October’s completion makes it look like I focused entirely on getting my Nighthaunts painted. However I also progressed several other projects which were completed in November
Paint All Massive Darkness Models
No progress here, but I’ll likely be returning to this project as I’ve bought the Rangers of Shadow Deep rulebook (written by the inestimably talented Joseph McCullough) which I’m quite excited to try out.
Filling Out the Frostgrave Bestiaries
With Halloween happening this month I took the opportunity to fill out a couple of gaps in my collection, namely purchasing what are now giant spiders, rats and snakes (as well as some skulls for a terrain piece I’ve got in mind). I only technically completed the spiders, although he rats await only some drybrushing and perhaps washes to complete so I’ll likely get them sorted out this month. Bring on Rangers of Shadow Deep!
Shadespire Nightvault
Lots of progress made here over the month, but completion for the first warband was technically a few days into November so I’ll hold those to pad out the November post.
Age of Sigmar
Well, 1000 points of Nighthaunts have now been painted. It was good getting my teeth into an army scale project again, but not sure I have the stamina to continue or play a full game with them. I’ve only gotten them to the table once so far, so am holding judgement until I can get another game or two in.
Coming Soon: Gaslands
I recently picked up the Gaslands rulebook and after one game it was more fun than I expected (and expectations were high). I’ve been busily knocking out some terrain and cars to get back to the table as soon as possible. Expect more on this next month.
Conclusion
Another solid month of hobby on the books and I have a freshly painted army to show for it. A new game and rounding out on Nightvault is on the agenda next. After that, I’m hoping to get Rangers of Shadow Deep to the table before the year is out, so will be busily reading the rulebook to see what I need to get painted for it.
