I thought I’d write a separate post to my initial thoughts focusing purely on the models in The Others, as I feel they go beyond boardgame pieces, and want to do them justice. As you’d expect from Cool Mini Or Not (CMON), they have put significant effort into the models and it really shows.
The models are made from a hard plastic, and are well cast, with limited mould lines and clean up required for them. The FAITH operatives have a good variety of poses, and some quite dynamic ones as well as the standard ‘standing and shooting’ style. The sins gribblies have much less variety as you’d expect from the waves of interdimensional horrors, however there are some interesting sculpts for the more individual characters like the Mayor, Avatars, etc.
I’ve started painting some of the FAITH operatives and they take paint really well, with sufficient detail to make the painting a little challenging. It allows decisions about the level of detail to go to and how much time you want to spend on each model.
All that said, let’s get onto some photos. The (painted) Sins models were painted by Monkey who did a great job in my opinion.
